Wednesday

My life is something else these days. As this project progresses, I find myself embroiled in agency politics and at the end of today, when I was leaving, all I could do is look heavenward and shake my head. The problems between the upper level IT folks existed before now, but my project is making those issues come to the surface and here I am in the middle. I think tomorrow will be VERY interesting because there is one woman (the one who gave me the thumbs up yesterday, let's call her S.) who is trying to control areas not under her area. One of her peers (M) is my bosses boss. Another peer of hers, a man (K) is over a different area. I am having to work with people from S's area, M's area and K's area.

Today M talked to K and got the go ahead to give me and my consultant permission to do something. M emailed one of K's people telling him to do the work to make it happen. At the end of the day I got a copy of an email from K's man to M saying that S had told him not to do what his boss K said was okay to do.

Whew... I am thinking that tomorrow will see some fallout from both M and K towards S.

And that is the tip of the iceberg. At least I'm laughing.

THEN...if that's not enough, I decided to do this new dating site I found called Christian Mingle. I put a profile on but haven't done anything with it, really. And honestly, I was thinking, no one is going to be interested in me anyway, they don't want a fat girl. LOL! And durn if I haven't had some men show interest. Granted, most of 'em are kooks and all... But yesterday I was online and this man from Houston, TX started an IM session on the site with me. So I talked to him for a little while and he was nice. And seemingly normal! He even knew what Calvinism was and what TULIP stood for. I was pleasantly surprised.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not particularly invested in that, but I was surprised that someone normal was "interested". And at this point I choose not to delve any deeper into that thought process.
